'Probably the hardest working band in Ireland'' THE POINT OF EVERYTHING
"...brimful of hardcore energy and intelligent arrangements...a rampaginging helping of aggro-metal, with exhuberent vocals battling it out with a relentless band noise...a terrific melody and an arrangement that shifts gears and keeps your ears engaged..." HOT PRESS
''...a thundering post-hardcore juggernaut, anvil-heavy riffs collide with powerhouse rhythms, they strip down, pull back and attack again with a furious clarity that recalls Dischord bands like Jawbox and Bluetip in their prime. '' 13TH NOTE
''Very exciting...very cool to watch...fantastic musicianship'' WIRED FM
''There isn’t a duff track here, it’s a short sharp shock with a bit of math rock here, punk rock there and a little vintage metal thrown into the mix''. THE LIMERICK POST
''There’s something about a band who can raise you out of Wednesday glums with a smart battering of upbeat, proper rock tunes and that’s what We Come In Pieces are doing for me here today''. HARMLESS NOISE
Their time is finally upon them.
WE COME IN PIECES have spent the past two years working themselves to the bone, touring, writing and recording their debut album Before the Chains as well as their self-titled follow-up EP. 2012 sees one of Ireland's most inventive, energetic and exciting bands take that next step in their frighteningly rapid evolution, with sophomore album Night of the Living, released on February 17th on digital download, cassette and tour-only CD through new label Champion Edition.
The band's upward trajectory has been ridiculous: from their formation in 2010, We Come in Pieces' debut album was written, recorded and toured inside of six months. 2011 saw the erstwhile three-piece of Shane Harrington (guitars),Kieran Sims (bass/vox) and Kieran Hayes (singing drummer) hit the UK and touring Ireland nationally, in the process supporting names like Frank Turner, Rolo Tomassi, Tubelord, the dearly-departed Throats and more. And with Night of the Living, produced by Limrock hero Ciaran Culhane (of Shardborne, Bad Reputation) seeing them hit their stride, balancing ever more finely their trademark clash of melody and obfuscating distortion & technical precision, it's hard to see that trajectory being stopped anytime soon.
Night of the Living is a distillation of what makes the band great - blistering musicianship, passionate performance, a natural grasp of dynamic and a wicked way with hooks and choruses, setting the tone perfectly for a year of solid touring of the UK, US and Europe. Pounding, coursing lead-off single Sexy Rouge, meanwhile, has been a hit online, scoring Hot Press' Video of the Week as well as mentions up and down the Irish blogosphere. Tracks like the bullet-proof Husker Don't and next single C-Side further nail the point home, at once with a polish worthy of any major band, and the intensity and feral urgency of their live show.
Night of the Living launches with a live excursion to newly-opened venue The Blind Pig on Thursday February 17th, available online, at gigs and from fine independent record shops all over Ireland. Sexy Rouge is still available as a free download on Bandcamp, and upcoming single C-Side, releasing late March for free download, will be accompanied by a very special video... more details on that in due course. :-)
