Limerick math-punk crew WE COME IN PIECES are hard at work as usual, preparing for the release of new album Night of the Living, on Friday the 17th, and the accompanying launch show in The Blind Pig, Foxes Bow, Limerick, followed by an extensive UK and European tour that will take them through to April (dates released next week).

Before all the mayhem and the endless road miles, Champion Edition is pleased to present Sexy Rouge, the first single from the album, and a manic taster of what's to come from the new EP. Sprightly, almost lilting riffs betray the underlying question of relevance and new ideas in music. Blistering musicianship and overawing energy pulse through the two minutes and fourteen seconds, yet never overpowering the raw melody underneath. It is available for download now through CE's Bandcamp page.

The track comes with an accompanying video, streaming now on YouTube, which sees the trio in their natural environment - live, frantic and bursting with energy. It is the first in a projected series of videos, each accompanying a track on the new album. More details as we have them.

WE COME IN PIECES have spent the past two years working themselves to the bone, touring, writing and recording their debut album Before the Chains as well as their self-titled follow-up EP. 2012 sees one of Ireland's most inventive, energetic and exciting bands take that next step in their frighteningly rapid evolution, with sophomore album Night of the Living, released on February 17th on digital download, cassette and tour-only CD through new labelChampion Edition.

The band's upward trajectory has been ridiculous: from their formation in 2010, We Come in Pieces' debut album was written, recorded and toured inside of six months. 2011 saw the erstwhile three-piece of Shane Harrington (guitars),Kieran Sims (bass/vox) and Kieran Hayes (singing drummer) hit the UK and touring Ireland nationally, in the process supporting names like Frank Turner, Rolo Tomassi, Tubelord, the dearly-departed Throats and more. And with Night of the Living, produced by Limrock hero Ciaran Culhane (of Shardborne, Bad Reputation) seeing them hit their stride, balancing ever more finely their trademark clash of melody and obfuscating distortion & technical precision, it's hard to see that trajectory being stopped anytime soon.

Champion Edition is an independent record label formed in 2011, releasing on cassette and digital download, as well as limited CD. Releases confirmed for 2012 include the upcoming Slugbait/Stantons' Grave split tape and Ireland/UK cassette releases from Protestant (US) and Slabdragger (UK). More announcements impending.
